Freebird Entertainment is an independent production company dedicated to creating entertaining and uplifting material for film, television, and web. Speaking from a unique voice "at the intersection of comedy and drama," Freebird Entertainment seeks to break free from the constraints of traditional genre and storytelling in an effort to reflect the complexities and nuances of real life.
Rebecca Norris (Owner) is a writer, producer, and content creator, working bi-coastally between Los Angeles and Atlanta. Rebecca has written and/or produced over 20 short films and web projects,
as well as an award-winning feature film.
Her feature film, Cloudy With a Chance of Sunshine, is currently available on Prime Video and DVD at major retailers. The film had its world premiere at the Manhattan Film Festival, where it took home a Best Feature Award.
"Cloudy" also won a Best Quality Entertainment Award at the Grand Rapids Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Film and Best Screenplay at the Love International Film Festival in Los Angeles.

Her most recent short, On Becoming A Man​, screened at the Cannes Film Festival and 12 other festivals, and won Best Comedy Short at the IFS Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Athens Jewish Film Festival. The film has been distributed by Shorts International.

A previous short film, Toasted, won the Audience Choice Award at the Canadian Film Centre's ShortsNonStop Film Festival in Toronto after being a finalist in the Dances With Films Festival’s 2-Minute, 2-Step Screenplay Competition, where her script was produced with sponsorship from Canon and Adobe.
Rebecca's web series, Split, won two Outstanding Achievement Awards at
LA WEBFEST, and was nominated for an Indie Series Award. Split made its international debut at KWebfest in South Korea, and was chosen as one of WebVee Guide's Favorite Web Series.

Rebecca and her work have been featured in several national publications, including Script Magazine, Backstage Magazine, The Examiner, TV.com, WebVee Guide, and Snobby Robot Magazine. She has also spoken about writing and producing at a number of conferences and festivals, including the Courier 12 Conference, Screenwriters World Conference, Breckenridge Film Festival, and at the Scriptwriters Network in Los Angeles.
Rebecca writes the columns Writers on the Web and True Indie for Script Magazine, where she encourages writers to produce their own work by exploring the indie production process, and by interviewing influencers in the web and indie film worlds. She is also a regular contributor to Screencraft and The Script Lab.
